Charging Station Donated to Youth Rehabilitation Centre

Kent With Ukraine Founder Jordan Meade, alongside Kent With Ukraine President Lord Risby, recently visited the Chernihiv Educational and Rehabilitation Centre of the Chernihiv Regional Council. This institution that stands as a powerful symbol of resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication in the most challenging of circumstances.

During the visit, Kent With Ukraine was proud to be able to donate a powerful 2500W charging station to the centre. In a region where power outages have become an increasingly frequent reality due to sustained attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, this contribution was gratefully received by the staff who work tirelessly in challenging circumstances. The charging station will help ensure that education and essential care services can continue uninterrupted, even during prolonged outages.

The centre provides specialist education and support for children with visual impairments, including those who are blind or deaf-blind. It is a place where barriers are actively overcome, and where every child is given the opportunity to learn, develop, and thrive despite the immense pressures imposed by war.

Arriving during a power outage, Jordan and Lord Risby witnessed first-hand the realities facing institutions across Ukraine. Yet what stood out most was not the absence of electricity, but the extraordinary presence of human dedication. Staff and volunteers continue to create a warm, nurturing, and structured environment for children facing uniquely difficult circumstances with Jordan noting how this in itself was 'an achievement that speaks volumes about their professionalism and care'.

Despite the conditions, there were moments of genuine joy. During the visit, Meade and Lord Risby joined students in decorating Easter eggs and shared moments of dancing and laughter. Against the backdrop of ongoing conflict, these scenes were almost surreal, yet they underscored a profound truth: even amidst war, childhood endures when the correct care and passion is in place.

The resilience displayed by the children, and the unwavering commitment of their teachers and caregivers, left a lasting impression with Jordan noting: 'They are not defined by the war around them, but by their courage, spirit, and determination to continue learning and living with dignity'.

For Kent With Ukraine, this visit reinforces the importance of sustained, practical support to communities across the Chernihiv region.

Through continued partnership and targeted assistance, at Kent With Ukraine we remain committed to standing alongside Ukraine, ensuring that even in the darkest moments, light and opportunity are not extinguished.

Our thanks to the Chernihiv Regional Administration for making this possible.
