How we are supporting young people in Ukraine

Ukraine’s future will be shaped by the children and young people growing up through the realities of war.

​

For many, education, childhood and early adulthood have been disrupted by air-raid alerts, displacement, damaged schools, interrupted learning, family separation and uncertainty about what comes next. These pressures affect not only education, but also confidence, wellbeing, opportunity and the ability of young people to plan for their futures.

​

Operation Spark is Kent With Ukraine’s programme dedicated to supporting children and young people across Ukraine.

​

The programme brings together education, wellbeing, digital access, international exchange, youth infrastructure, leadership and opportunity. Its purpose is to help young Ukrainians continue learning, developing and connecting with the wider world, while giving them the tools and confidence to play a full part in the recovery of their communities and country.

​

Kent With Ukraine works alongside Ukrainian schools, local authorities, youth organisations, communities and partners in the United Kingdom to develop practical projects that respond to current needs while also creating longer-term opportunities.

The ambition is not simply to restore what has been lost.

​

It is to help create stronger opportunities, wider horizons and lasting connections for the generation that will help rebuild Ukraine.​
