From Kent with Love: Aid Successfully Arrives in Snowy Chernihiv

This morning marked a significant milestone for Kent With Ukraine as our lorry arrived in snowy Chernihiv, bringing much-needed relief to a community facing harsh winter conditions and ongoing challenges. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, this shipment contained over £300,000 worth of medical aid, rescue equipment, warm winter items, and generators. This mission was not just a delivery of supplies but a message of solidarity and hope to the people of Chernihiv region.
The Urgency Behind the Mission
Chernihiv, located in northern Ukraine, has endured severe hardships, especially during these few weeks of harsh winter conditions and intense Russian aggression. The city’s infrastructure has suffered, and access to essential services remains under threat from the enemy. The cold weather intensifies the difficulties faced by residents, particularly those in vulnerable groups such as the elderly, injured, or displaced.
Our mission aimed to address these urgent needs by providing:
Medical aid to support local healthcare facilities
Rescue equipment to assist emergency responders
Warm winter clothing and blankets to protect against the cold
Generators to ensure power supply during outages
Each item was carefully selected to meet the immediate and practical needs of the community.
The Impact of the Delivered Aid
Upon arrival, the team at the Chernihiv Regional State Administration set to work in ensuring that the supplies will be distributed to hospitals, emergency services, and children's centres across the Chernihiv Region.

This mission was only possible because of the generosity of our supporters. All the medical equipment and supplies were donated from our local partners in Kent and individuals and Rotary Clubs in north-Kent kindly covered transportation costs. Volunteers and the amazing team at Skyford, Sittingbourne helped pack and organize the lorry, ensuring everything was ready on time.
The community’s commitment shows how collective action can bring hope and practical help to those in need. Every contribution, big or small, played a role in this successful delivery.

While this mission has brought relief as the winter conditions remain brutally cold, the needs in the Chernihiv region remain significant. At Kent With Ukraine, we are already planning our next lorry-delivery. Which we hope will be at the end of February.
