Kyiv Region Aid Drop Complete

Updated: May 18

Thanks to the incredible support from the Gravesend community, a large volume of aid has been collected, sorted, and sent to Ukraine. Over the past few months, TJ's Gravesend served as the central hub where tons of essential supplies were received and organized. These donations included clothing for orphans, medical supplies, hygiene kits, and blankets for the frontline.

How the Gravesend Community Made a Difference

The success of this aid drop shows the power of community action. Residents, local businesses, and volunteers came together to gather and deliver a wide range of items. Clothing donations helped provide warmth and comfort to children who lost their families. Medical supplies supported hospitals and clinics facing shortages. Hygiene kits helped maintain health and dignity in difficult conditions. Blankets offered Ukraine's brave defenders some relief from harsh weather. This collective effort highlights how small contributions add up to significant impact.

TJ's Pub in Gravesend played a crucial role in serving as a focal point for the community to gather and sort aid. Thanks to the hard work of Iris, Tom and the TJ's team, we received tons of quality donations, sorted them carefully, and prepared them for the long journey ahead.

Sorting included checking the condition of clothing, verifying expiration dates on medical supplies, and assembling hygiene kits with essential items like soap, toothpaste, and sanitary products. This attention to detail by our volunteers made sure that aid was both useful and safe for recipients.

Once sorted, the aid was loaded onto a van , which was driven by Tom and Rob all the way from Gravesend to Ukraine. On arrival into Ukraine we distributed the aid to rural communities around Kyiv. Priority went to areas with the greatest need, including orphanages, hospitals, and frontline units. This targeted approach maximised the effectiveness of our donations.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in another successful aid drop to Ukraine!
