An Unforgettable Evening with Ukrainian Music Sensation SadSvit in Rochester’s Historic Vaults
Over 50 guests gathered in Rochester’s historic George Vaults for a truly special evening of Ukrainian music, culture and conversation, hosted by Kent With Ukraine and generously sponsored by The George Vaults and Silverhand Estate.

On Monday 5 October, Kent With Ukraine was delighted to welcome one of Ukraine’s most exciting young musical talents, SadSvit (Bohdan Rozvadovskyi), to Kent for an intimate, one-night-only event in the magnificent 14th-century vaults beneath Rochester High Street.
With hundreds of millions of streams and an international following, SadSvit has emerged as one of the defining voices of a new generation of Ukrainian musicians. His distinctive music has resonated with audiences far beyond Ukraine, particularly among young people whose lives have been shaped by Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Having performed to audiences across Europe, including a sold-out London concert the previous evening, SadSvit exchanged the traditional concert stage for the remarkable surroundings of Rochester’s medieval crypt, offering guests an exceptionally personal experience.
More Than Just Music
Unlike a conventional concert, SadSvit: Live in the Vaults brought together live acoustic music and an intimate conversation exploring the artist’s life, career and experiences as a young Ukrainian living through war.
Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to hear about the inspiration behind SadSvit’s music, the challenges facing Ukraine’s younger generation and the extraordinary resilience of a country determined to protect its national identity.
The conversation also explored the importance of music, art and creativity in preserving Ukrainian culture at a time when Russia continues its attempts to erase it.
Against the atmospheric backdrop of Rochester’s centuries-old vaults, SadSvit treated those gathered to a rare and personal live performance, creating a memorable connection between the artist and his audience.
It was a powerful reminder that Ukraine’s struggle is not simply about territory. It is also about the right of its people to preserve their language, culture, creativity and identity.
Kent Standing Together with Ukraine
The evening was organised and hosted by Kent With Ukraine as part of our continuing commitment to strengthening the bonds of friendship between the UK and Ukraine, while raising vital funds in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, Kent With Ukraine has worked to provide practical humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the war, particularly across the Chernihiv region, while building lasting partnerships between communities in Kent and Ukraine.

Events such as this provide an important opportunity to bring people together, celebrate Ukraine’s remarkable cultural heritage and ensure that the voices of its people continue to be heard.

Through music and conversation, the evening offered a different perspective on Ukraine: not simply a country enduring war, but a proud, creative and resilient nation whose young people continue to inspire audiences around the world.
A Special Thank You to Our Sponsors
We are enormously grateful to The George Vaults and the Silverhand Estate, whose generous sponsorship and support helped make this extraordinary evening possible.
The George Vaults provided a truly unique setting for the occasion, with its historic surroundings creating an atmosphere unlike any conventional music venue.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended, donated and helped make the evening such a success.
Above all, our heartfelt thanks go to SadSvit for sharing his music, his experiences and his time with us during his busy European tour.

For one very special evening, a medieval vault in the heart of Kent became a place where British and Ukrainian friendship, music and solidarity came together.
At Kent With Ukraine, we believe that standing with Ukraine means more than providing humanitarian assistance. It also means celebrating its people, championing its culture and ensuring that the spirit of Ukraine continues to shine brightly on the international stage.
