Kent With Ukraine Founder Jordan Meade was proud to accompany Lord Risby this week as they joined members of the Ukrainian diaspora in London for a moving and deeply meaningful Christmas concert held in solidarity with Ukraine.

The special evening brought together supporters, community leaders, and friends of Ukraine at a time when the country continues to endure the brutal realities of Russia’s ongoing invasion. Against that backdrop, the concert offered not only a moment of cultural celebration, but a powerful reminder of Ukraine’s resilience, identity, and strength.
The performances were widely praised for both their exceptional quality and emotional impact. The audience was treated to extraordinary musical contributions from Ukrainian soprano Maryana Bodnar, internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Friederike Krum, and the inspiring Ukrainian Youth Choirs, whose talent and spirit filled the cathedral with a sense of hope and determination.
During the evening, Lord Risby delivered a particularly forceful message, drawing attention to one of the most shocking atrocities of the war: Russia’s abduction of more than 20,000 Ukrainian children. He also condemned what he described as the blatant hypocrisy of prominent Russian Christians who continue to support the war while refusing to speak out against these crimes.
“In Russia there are prominent Christians who support this war—and even worse, they have failed to attack or criticise the appalling abduction of Ukrainian children. This, ladies and gentlemen, is not what the Christian faith is about,” Lord Risby told those gathered.
Jordan Meade described the evening as both moving and resolute in its purpose, emphasising the importance of standing alongside Ukraine’s communities at home and abroad, particularly during the Christmas season. He also underlined the vital role that cultural events such as these play in sustaining morale, unity, and international attention at a time when Ukraine continues to fight for its freedom.
Kent With Ukraine expressed its gratitude to Ira Rapiy, SupportUkraine.uk, and the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Family in Exile for hosting such a powerful gathering, and for providing a space in which the Ukrainian community and its supporters could come together in shared solidarity.
As the evening closed, the message from all those present was clear: Ukraine is not alone. Through music, faith, and unwavering international friendship, the commitment to Ukraine’s survival, justice, and victory remains steadfast this Christmas and beyond.
