Welcoming the Ukrainian Naval Band to London

It was an incredible privilege for Iris and Jordan to spend the evening in the company of the Ukrainian Naval Band, whose musicians had only days earlier performed at Buckingham Palace alongside the Band of the Scots Guards to mark the 34th Independence Day of Ukraine.

Representing Kent With Ukraine, Iris and Jordan had the honour of sitting just inches away from the performers as the Naval Band delivered a powerful and moving programme, blending traditional Ukrainian folk music, classical compositions, and contemporary pieces. The performance offered a vivid expression of Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage, resilience, and national identity which was particularly poignant given the ongoing war.

The evening stood as a reminder that Ukrainian culture is not only surviving but thriving, even in the most challenging of circumstances. Music and dance once again proved to be a unifying force, capable of transcending borders and reinforcing solidarity between nations and communities.

The event was expertly organised by Ira Rapiy, Support Ukraine, and the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, whose continued efforts to promote Ukrainian culture and awareness in the UK are deeply valued. Iris and Jordan expressed their sincere thanks to all involved for delivering such a memorable and inspiring occasion.

Kent With Ukraine remains proud to support initiatives that celebrate Ukraine’s culture, strengthen people-to-people ties, and reaffirm the UK’s enduring solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
